Rod Carstens is a former Recon Marine, firefighter, paramedic and Certified Emergency Manager. After this misspent youth of hiding in the bushes, riding red fire and rescue trucks and worrying about various types of Weapons of Mass Destruction and natural disasters he has finally settled down to write books for a living. He enjoys reading and writing everything from history to science fiction and thrillers. He has been a military history buff since he was a kid and continues to read it today. He hopes this long interest in the military comes through in his military science fiction series Blood War as well as his other books. If he shows a preference for his characters being Marines you will have to excuse him, once a Marine always a Marine. As a writer he is still a work in progress and enjoys the challenge of producing entertaining as well as exciting books.
